Hi I'm Ivy, I am 22 and I live somewhere in the united states. I'm a very shy person, am partial to stormy weather and am a night owl. I was homeschooled, graduated about three or so years early with straight A's (aside from math may it go die in a hole XD) I work with a little bit of everything, but most of what I have uploaded are just my sketches and paintings. (partly because all of my other supplies are packed away from my last move) Soon though I'm going to upload my other projects.

I started out sewing and learned how to do it when I was four, I used to mostly make stuffed animals, but also doll clothes and some other things. That was also around the same time I learned to sculpt. I used to make massive dioramas and figures to play with, typically the subject of these dioramas being dinosaurs or mythology.
When I was twelve I had the chance to enter a local day of the dead art competition and placed second. (even after someone smashed my sculpture) That was competing with adults who had been making art for years too so I always think that's cool. Plus what's really funny, the next year, when I had turned thirteen they had the competition again, only they changed some things! It wasn't going to be a viewers choice, they brought in a judge and also they set an age limit to compete with the adults. . . Fourteen.

Yeah I didn't enter that year XD

I didn't really compete after that because I became more interested in miniatures, namely tiny horses and the like. A few years ago I got into sculpting ball joint dolls and found a massive passion for it. I also found that my learning to draw human figures about a year prior helped me greatly with the process.

I got into drawing about four or five years ago? I can never remember exactly because drawing was never my first love. I used to draw maps all the time when I was a kid, as well as houses, (doll houses, for years I wanted to design toys!) but that really was it. For years I actually didn't even like drawing. After me and my friend started writing seriously together I started to want to draw my OCs and my mom was kind enough to get me a few books on drawing anime figures as a surprise. These were by Christopher Hart and I am so thankful I got them! most drawing books didn't click with me but those did and still do.

I have been drawing more seriously the last year or two, but I am planning on being a professional writer and novelist.

I started writing not long after I learned how to spell, but nothing I did for years was very good (like at all. it was terrifying) and I struggled past that first paragraph. So while I had tons of ideas I wasn't ever able to actually get them out of my head and onto the page. I kind of gave up on writing anything after a point, feeling it was impossible for me to do. It went on for years like this until me and my friends started role plying online around the age of fourteen. I was originally introduced to this forum style role play by a childhood friend (thank you so much TJ you may not realize it, but you gave me a huge gift! Thank you for putting up with my stupidity in your story, haha.) I became super interested in the idea and eventually ended up hosting my own RPGs. My very first, named As Darkness falls.

In the beginning it was just for fun, but after awhile I decided it could be turned into something more. That is when my friend Tig and me started working together. We had spent months just playing with the concept as I hosted more role plays, and eventually we decided to give an actual novel a try. We ended up writing a trilogy in just a few months. From that moment on we found ourselves falling down the rabbit hole, and we never came back.
We've been writing together for almost six years, and have fruitfully created seventeen novels, and dozens of short stories that we hope to begin publishing with in the next few years. We don't plan on stopping anytime soon, if anything we are just getting started. You can go and visit my friend Tigly here, let her know I sent you!

It wasn't and still isn't always the easiest for me to write, I've had to overcome my dyslexia and my struggles with depression, but fighting makes you strong and I am proud of where I am. I'm entirely self taught and have recently been taking numerous online writing and literature classes to help expand my knowledge and abilities.

I write fantasy and science fiction books, but it's seems for things like NaNoWriMo I tend to favor more, dark, drama styled stories that are based on experiences I have had in real life.
I pull allot of my inspiration from mythology and the concepts of a spirit world blending with that of the scientific one. I'm definitely a fantasy nerd and often my stories are created just so I can get my fix!

Some of my biggest creative influences are The lord of the rings, the elder scrolls, Dune, into the land of the unicorns, metropolis and many other classic sci-fi and horror films like carnival of souls, the birds, house on haunted hill, vertigo, etc. Anime and manga have also played a huge part in my life, as well as animation in general. While there have been a lot of books that have inspired me, for a majority of my life and even to this day film and animation is the primary driving force behind my creativity. I wanted to write ironically, not because I loved reading as a kid, (I quite detested it actually because it was hard for me to read) but because I loved films. I loved seeing how people were able to tell these epic stories and make them come to life and I was inspired to do the same.

I've found looking at how a scene is set in something like a tv show for example, you are able to learn how to quickly an efficiently set the scene in a book. As often times, it is the simplest scenes that have the most powerful emotional vibe. I try to learn as much as I can from the old movies I love and directors like Alfred Hitchcock who, as most of us know was the master of suspense and horror.

I am still in the process of growing myself as an artist and perfecting my own personal style, but so far I am happy and can't wait to keep growing and improving myself! I am truly honored by all of my watchers who have joined me on this long road I'm on, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here for me and encouraging me along the way.  thank you all, old and new I hope I can give back what you all have given me over the years. I couldn't have done it with out you all, and in many ways, YOU are all my biggest inspiration <3

Thank you for reading ~ Ivy

I like your bio very much. It's fascinating, because it reminds me of my own life in a lot of ways. I might like to get to know you a little better. :)
